Common causes of a check engine light

The following are common causes of a check engine light. In order to identify your issue, please stop by our shop to have it diagnose.

Issue
Gas cap is loose
Oxygen sensor (O2) may be bad
Spark plugs may need replacing
Spark plug wires may need replacing
Catalytic converter may be faulty
Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) is faulty

Possible Solution
Tighten the gas cap
Consider replacing the oxygen sensor
Replace spark plugs
Consider replacing spark plug wires
Check to see if catalytic converter is faulty or missing
Consider replacing your mass airflow sensor
